How does PlanGrid version my sheets?
We do this by reading the sheet name from your title block and replacing old sheets with the same name. You can also choose to name based on filename or an auto-incrementing value (if the auto-detection is not working well for your sheets). If you would like select a specific area of every sheet for our system to read, please use our Targeted OCR option.
During the publishing phase of the upload process, we ask you to verify that we got the name correct.
If we find a match, we will notify you that the sheet you're uploading will become a new version of the previous version.
Which version do I see in my sheets icon and on my tablet?
The newest version of your drawings will be automatically displayed on www.plangrid.com and on your device after updating the project.

How do I name a version?
Versions are named in the first step after you click the button to add new sheets. These names will be something like "Initial set," "Addendum 1," etc. Version names should not be used to sort plans by discipline. You can do this with project tags. Rather, upload all of your plans (electrical, architectural, and so on) together under an appropriate version name.
