Who can create an RFI?
Any project member can create an RFI. However, unless you are the project Admin or default RFI manager, all your draft RFIs will be assigned to the default RFI Manager.
Who can see an RFI?
RFIs that are distributed are visible to everyone on the project. Before an RFI is distributed, only Admins and RFI participants can see the RFI. Participants are anyone who has been assigned to the RFI in any way (submitter, manager, reviewer, or watcher).
You can see an RFI if
- you created the RFI
- you are working on an in-progress RFI (i.e. submitter, manager or reviewer, or watcher)
- you are a project Administrator
- the RFI has been distributed (all project members can see it)
Who can edit an RFI question?
Only Admins and default RFI Managers can edit an RFI Question.
An RFI Submitter can not edit the question after they’ve submitted an RFI.
An RFI Reviewer can not edit a question. Questions can’t be edited once the RFI has been distributed or voided. Any edit will be tracked in the RFI History.
Who can send an RFI to the Reviewer?
Only the RFI Manager or project Admin can assign RFIs to a Reviewer.
Can I assign an RFI to be answered by multiple people?
At this time, we only support a single RFI Reviewer.
Can a distributed RFI be reopened?
A distributed RFI can be reopened. This will either move the RFI back to the Answered state or create a separate revision of the same RFI number; for example, RFI # 3.1 would be the revision of RFI #3.
How can I assign watchers to an RFI?
Watchers can be assigned at any stage in the workflow aside from draft and distributed. To add a watcher, click the “Edit” button in the information segment of the RFI detail page. Then add the watcher’s email address to the “Watchers” field.
Can I filter RFIs?
Yes, filtering is available on all platforms.
When is my RFI assigned a number?
Your RFI is assigned a number when you send it for review.
Are RFIs available on mobile apps?
Yes, you can create RFIs and view the RFI log and details on the iOS and Windows apps.
At this time, it’s not possible to edit RFIs from mobile apps. Please use the web.
How do I set up Advanced RFIs for my Organization?
Advanced RFIs are a paid addition to PlanGrid that are enabled at the organizational level. If you do not have Advanced RFIs activated, your Organization Administrator can reach out to your PlanGrid Account Executive or sales representative directly or call our sales team at (800) 646-0796, option 1 for information on pricing and activation.
